Countdown to Japan – 2 Days Left!
We’re working on practicing some regular greeting words and how to ask directions in Japanese as there’s only two days left before we leave! There are a lot of different ways to say what to us would be the same thing. We say Hi, Hey, and Hello to people throughout the day, but in Japan there are various greetings for different times of the day, when you’re talking to people of different rank, and more.
The ones we’re mainly going to use are:
Ohayo (O-HI-OH)– for in the morning
Konnichiwa (CONE-NI-CHI-WAH)– for the afternoon
Konbanwa (CONE-BAN-WAH)– for the evening
The picture above that Bethany Muncy took and shared with us is a normal sight, as there are lots of long narrow streets in Tokyo. Hopefully we won’t get lost…too often!
