Mrs. Muncy’s Musical Menagerie, the beckymuncy.com website is dedicated to sharing music, programs, music tracks, and ideas that I have had success with over the years. I’ve spent  40 plus years developing puppet characters, songs, programs and materials that work with children preschool through 5th grade.  The music and materials are kid tested and kid approved!

History

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, character education was taught in most schools. I attended many wonderful workshops through my school corporation, and was given many ideas at the workshops to teach character education in my classroom. These workshops were the spark of my inspiration for creating my puppets and writing songs about various character traits.

The summer of 2002,  I had the privilege of spending a large part of the summer in Nashville, Tennessee recording a children’s CD, “Blueprints for Life”.  It was so much fun spending time with talented studio musicians and my wonderful producer Matt Wilder. With their help, I was able to take my songs to a different level and we created a lot of wonderful arrangements for the 18 character trait songs!

My fantastic friends Danny and Marie Ray brought a choir of children from their church to sing on the CD. My lovely daughters Bethany and Caitlyn Muncy came along for the adventure and often helped to babysit our producers children. Also a big THANK YOU to my wonderful husband Rob Muncy who agreed to let me pursue such a huge project! It was truly a fun summer and I came back with a super CD of songs enjoyed by many children and teachers. I continue to use in my classroom today.
